Fishing and Diving

There are many types of fish and underwater life off the shores of St. Kitts. The many species include Barracuda, Snapper, Dolphin (Mahi Mahi not flipper!), Kingfish, Dorado, Wahoo, Flying fish and other types of native fish. The local people do their fishing by small homemade water craft. The passenger capacities are about 4 persons and they are powered by big 250 HP engines; some may differ depending on the craft size and cost.

For divers there are manmade reefs such as old freighters and wrecked ships. There are hundreds of historic wrecks around the islands yet to be discovered. The underwater sea life is abundant and very beautiful. For snorkelers, there are quite a few spots for offshore snorkeling located mainly in the vicinities of Frigate Bay and the South Peninsula.
