Q. What type of electrical outlets do you have at Timothy Beach
Resort?
A. The rooms have standard US outlets and 110v service.
Q. Do I need a surge protector for my laptop, camera or
other delicate electronic device?
A. A travel surge protector is recommended for traveling anywhere in the
Caribbean. We recommend purchasing this item prior to travel.
Q. I am from the UK and will be traveling with a battery pack. May I
have it recharged?
A. 13 amp UK battery packs may be recharged in the Manager's office.
This service is available 9-5 Monday through Friday.
Q. Do I need to bring a beach towel?
A. We offer free use of beach towels during your stay with us. They must
be returned to our front office before your departure or a replacement fee
will be billed to your credit card.
Q. Are chaise lounges available for free on the beach?
A. We provide free use of chaise lounges at the beach. These are currently
dark blue green. If not immediately available, please contact one
of our staff members. Nearby concessionaires will charge you a fee for
use of their chaises.
Q. Do you have internet access in the rooms?
A. Timothy Beach Resort has Free wireless internet access in the rooms, at the
restaurant and at the pool area
Q. I prefer not to bring a lap top, but would like to occasionally keep
in touch with work or my family. Do you have a computer I can use?
A. There is a desktop computer located in our front office for guest use.
The cost is $5 US/half hour on a first come, first serve basis.
Q. What kind of currency should I bring with me?
A. Both EC (Eastern Caribbean) and US currency are used on St. Kitts.
Q. If I have US currency is it better to exchange it into EC dollars?
A. This is entirely individual preference. If you plan to only purchase
items in hotels, restaurants, larger shops, larger groceries or rent a car,
then US is fine. If you will be visiting the local farmers/fish market,
local bakeries, or purchasing gas for a vehicle, you may wish to have some EC
money available.
Q. How far is the hotel from the airport and what is the taxi fare?
A. The hotel is a very pleasant 3 mile drive from the airport and the fare is
about $16 US payable to your driver. Fares are subject to periodic
government review.
Q. Can the hotel arrange for me to be picked up at the
airport?
A. Yes, we can arrange for a driver to meet you at the airport.
The driver will be holding a "Timothy Beach Resort" sign. The fare is $16 US
for 1-4 people payable directly to the driver. Please let us know 2 days prior to arrival.
Q. When is check in? Check out time?
A. Check in time is 3 pm. Check out time is 12 noon.
Q. If I arrive early will my room be ready?
A. If you do plan to arrive early, it is imperative that you let us know at
least 24 hours ahead. We will try to accommodate an early arrival,
but at certain times of year it may not be possible.
Q. I am arriving in the late evening and won't have time to
purchase food. May I ask the hotel to purchase items for my room?
A. We do provide a grocery shopping service for our guests. This is particularly
helpful for late Saturday or Sunday arrivals. We ask that you try not to be
too brand specific. A 25% fee will be added to the cost of your
groceries and placed on your room bill. Please give us at least 48 hours notice.
Q. Are there grocery stores nearby?
A. There is a mini-mart down the street from the hotel with limited items.
Larger full service groceries are 10 minutes away by car.
Q. What are the hours of operation of the groceries?
A. Most groceries are open until 6 pm Monday through Saturday and for an hour
or two on Sunday.
Q. Is there public bus service near the hotel?
A. There is no public transportation within Frigate Bay, the area where
Timothy Beach Resort is located. Taxis are available. If there is
not one outside our front lobby, our staff will be delighted to call one for
you.
Q. Do you recommend renting a car?
A. A car is recommended for exploring the island, visiting the various
other beaches of the South Peninsula and for dining out at night. If you are
active and enjoy lots of sight seeing then a car is a great idea.

Q. How do I rent a car?
A. You may rent directly from an agency on island or our staff can
assist you in finding the car that is right for you.
Q. How do I obtain my rental car?
A. Most rental car
companies will deliver the car to you at Timothy Beach Resort, drive you to the
license branch so you may purchase a temporary St. Kitts drivers license and
have you sign the appropriate paper work.
Q. Can I leave my car at the airport on the day of departure?
A. This can only be done by special arrangement and not all companies
allow this option. The usual procedure is to return you car to the
agency and they will bring you back to the hotel or airport.
