 "A volcano in St. Kitts?" - Yes, but not active. There are tours available to view this spectacular monster of a mountain. You can arrange a trip with a local person or tour guide. The 1-hour drive by 4X4 (jeep or truck) is worth the wait, but that's not where it stops. When you reach the mountain you'll begin a 2 1/2 hour hike to the top through the rain forest. This includes brief breaks and you will learn about the different vegetation and wild life that surrounds the volcano. You must wear hiking shoes or proper walking shoes to do this journey. Be warned it is not for the faint hearted, but the thrill is for life!
Other less arduous, but equally interesting, hikes are available for those looking for a fun and educational but less strenuous experience.
